MHIB is a boutique billing company. As such, client treatment programs receive ongoing, individualized attention from the owner and her longtime affiliates. This is in contrast to large billing companies, which have inevitable staff turnover and variability in staff skill sets.
Cecily Ruttenberg
Founder & CEO
Cecily founded Mental Health Insurance Billing Inc. (MHIB) in 2016. Her advocacy education began when fighting for services for her own children. In 2014, Cecily worked at a nonprofit advocacy group writing appeals for families who were denied coverage. MHIB was born with the goal to help families recover more money by obtaining authorization at the beginning of treatment, rather than after the fact. Cecily is a tireless advocate for the families and treatment programs that she represents. She works directly with her colleagues on all cases. Angelia Arellano, CADC
Utilization Review Specialist
Angelia is a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor with 18 years of behavioral health experience. In addition to working with private clients, she previously served as Utilization Director of a large treatment program in Southern California. Her first-hand experience working with individuals struggling with addiction, mental-health and trauma, fuels her passion for patient advocacy. Angelia’s knowledge regarding facility compliance, medical necessity and insurance regulation, provides a distinct advantage as it relates to Utilization Review and maximizing insurance collections.
Andrea Sinclair
Utilization Review Specialist
Andrea is a utilization review specialists with MHIB. She has been with the company since 2017. Andrea is passionate about the work she does and will advocate for patients to receive the care they deserve. She finds joy in being able to help others. In her leisure time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family.
Rachel Grover
Billing Specialist
Rachel has a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Special Education from Boise State University. She has worked in various fields of customer service, and is loving the opportunity to help different families within the mental health field. She lives in Boise, Idaho with her husband and three children. She loves hiking, anything involving the outdoors, and traveling with family and friends whenever time allows.
Shakyra Lawson, LCSW
Shakyra Lawson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
She obtained both her Bachelor and Master of Social Work Degrees from Florida State University. Her experience includes working with children and families as a Behavioral Health Counselor and School Social Worker. She also advocates for adolescent mental health in residential facilities. In her work as a Psychotherapist, Shakyra provided co-parenting therapy, couples counseling, group therapy, as well as individual therapy addressing anxiety, trauma and depression.
Patricia Rudolf
Patricia Rudolf has worked as a utilization review specialist advocating for patient and their families for over 15 years. She is skilled at communicating with insurance carriers to establish medical necesity for patients in treatment, thus ensuring the get the most financial coverage possible.
